A month of faith, art and everyday life

Venice in November reveals its most intimate soul. The summer crowds are gone, leaving a city that breathes slowly, wrapped in mist and calm reflections. It’s a month of remembrance and rebirth, when tradition and contemporary life intertwine through ancient rituals, cultural events and gourmet experiences.

The floating bridge to the island of San Michele

On October 30, 2025, the floating votive bridge was inaugurated, reconnecting Fondamente Nove with the Island of San Michele, home to Venice’s monumental cemetery.
This symbolic passage, accessible until November 9, revives a tradition abandoned in the 1950s and renewed today as a journey of memory and hope.

During the days dedicated to All Saints and All Souls, Venetians cross the lagoon on foot to pay their respects to their loved ones.
It’s a gesture that expresses the city’s enduring bond between the living and those who rest in peace — a ritual of silence, belonging and beauty.

As the Mayor said during the opening: “With determination, things can be done.”

Venice Noir 2025: mystery in the lagoon

From November 14 to 16, 2025, Venice hosts a new edition of Venice Noir, the international festival dedicated to crime fiction, thrillers and noir cinema.
Between foggy alleys, dim palaces and secret stories, the city becomes the perfect stage for mystery lovers and storytellers alike.

Back to the Wine: the fair of natural and artisanal wines

On November 9 and 10, 2025, at Terminal 103 (Maritime Station), Back to the Wine returns — the fair dedicated to natural and artisanal wines.
A celebration of authentic winemaking, made of passion, craft and terroir.
More than a hundred Italian and international producers will present their labels with tastings, workshops and talks.
Public entry is open, with free parking for visitors on both days — a true toast to creativity and sustainability.

Free admission to Venice’s civic museums

November is also a month of shared culture.
On November 9 and December 14, 2025, the Civic Museums of Venice open their doors free of charge to residents of the 44 municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Venice and Mogliano Veneto.

It’s a unique opportunity to rediscover masterpieces at the Doge’s Palace, Museo Correr, Ca’ Rezzonico, Ca’ Pesaro, or to visit the museums of Murano, Burano and Torcello.
A day to feel part of Venice’s living cultural heritage.

Feast of Our Lady of Health – November 21

Among the most cherished Venetian traditions, the Feast of Our Lady of Health (Festa della Salute) takes place on November 21.
Every year, thousands of people cross the votive bridge over the Grand Canal to reach the Basilica della Salute and offer candles to the Virgin.
It’s a pilgrimage of gratitude and faith that blends spirituality with popular life, accompanied by the scent of candles and traditional sweets such as castradina and frittelle.
A celebration that embodies the heart and devotion of Venice.
